“It is heartwarming that the response was overwhelming, but running unopposed is no big deal as it carries great responsibility. I have to summon every effort I can muster, and with your support and divine intervention, I will be able to prove do the tasks reposed on me,” Castillones said.
For the first time in the history of the sectoral representations at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the municipality of Boston is now ably represented.

DORECO Board President Chito Gregorio revealed that the cooperative is now laying the plan and working on it’s materialization. “The first move is to make a feasibility study on the seemingly ambitious project. The study will run for six months to a year. And in that case, we hope to finish the feasibility study next year, after which, we will already be asking a permit from the Dept. of Energy (DOE),” he said. Since the project could never be a possibility without the needed budget, DORECO already plans to make arrangement with Dev’t Bank of the Philippines (DBP), and to other financial institutions for a loan transaction, to be paid within 12 years after the completion of the project.
“Once we have the hydropower plant in Cateel, definitely, rate in electricity will go down. We can now minimize the use of the NAPOCOR power supply and compliment what is lacking in our power consumption with the power generation from the hydropower plant,” he explained. However, Gregorio also reported that the power service has improved in the last weeks with the start of the rainy season, or with the rain enjoyed by the country in the past days which resulted to the resumption of the dams operation.
